Hi! Thanks for the question.

Please take note of the disclaimer below that this answer is not a
substitute to informed professional legal advice. Please consult an
attorney before making any actions.

In our first link we can see that different states have different
policies about online gambling. The following website provides a chart
showing which US States have ?Express Internet Prohibition? meaning it
specifically bans engaging in internet gambling businesses. But the
website also clearly states that it doesn?t automatically mean that if
the state doesn?t have ?Express Internet Prohibition? that putting an
online gambling site is legal. The issue is a complicated one and you
might be threading difficult waters here.

In terms of federal law, the Wire Act of 1961 prohibits online gambling.

?According to the Justice Department, Internet gambling is illegal for
Americans. The courts have ruled that under the 1961 Wire Wager Act,
which prohibits the use of phone lines for placing sports bets,
Internet sports betting is illegal.?

?The language of the Wire Act clearly prohibits the use of the
Internet for transmission of sports bets or wagers or information
assisting in the placement of such bets or wagers,[72] unless
transmission falls within one of the two exceptions noted above. The
statute, however, does not expressly discuss its possible application
to other forms of gambling. As a result, differing interpretations
have arisen over the construction of the phrase "any sporting event or
contest," and over whether the 40-year old Wire Act prohibits Internet
gambling.?
