QUESTION: We have a MS Word document. and want to merge (or link) a
PICTURE from an Access database. We want to have the result of the
merge as an actual PHOTO. How can I do it?
Here is what I did?
(1) Create an Access database (with a table called ?Source.tbl?), with
one field (called ?test-object??with OBJECT type).
(2) Then, I clicked INSERT/PICTURE/Microsoft Art Gallery, etc. to
insert an actual picture into the ?Test-Object? field.
(3) Then, in MS Word document, I click Tools/Letters & Mailings/Mail Merge Wizard.
(4) For ?Select Recipients?, I use Access? ?Source.tbl?; then insert
the Merge Field ?Test-Object.?.
(5) Now, when I clicked on ?Merge to New Documents? (or ?Review Your
Letters?), the result comes out as letters (indicating the file
location), whereas I want to see the result in actual PICTURE.
Note: Even if the Access field type is defined as ?HYPERLINK?, the
result is still the same. That is, letters resulted, and not actual
picture.
I wanted the result to be the actual PICTURE (as originally inserted).
