If you were 39 with no ties to anyone or anything ie: job, children,
wife, houes, etc. where would you live in Central America where you
could be possitioned ahead of the next real estate investment boom
like Costa Rica was 15 years ago? I've been in the commercial real
estate industry in Texas for the past 15 years and I'm researching the
central American countries from foreigen ownership requirements to
cost of living, from transperency to political climate, and many other
criteria. I've looked at scores of web site and government sites. a
good resourse i've found is Escape from America, and many other
portals. I'm in the process of learning everything i can starting on a
macro scale ie: general country profiles and narrowing my focus to
cities/towns.
I need a course of action or plan of attack to refine my research
leading to a "A" list of places to really zero in on. Incidently,
while figuring out where I'm going to land, I'm also helping my Dad
who has been looking for a family vacation home in the Carribean,
Central America and Mexico.

Please send me any questions.

Greg

Like you, I too have been looking at the caribean/central america as a
place to live and or invest. One intresting thing I have learned is
to be sensitive to the opening of international airports that can
handle jumbo jets. These typically become gateways to mass tourism and
jumpstart developement in a big way. good luck!
