I work in a center where currently there is a mix of permanent and
temporary employees. Schedules within the center are flexible, all
employees have a core shift time but they can also set their own
schedule. Now, everything is done via email and a schedule goes out
at the end of the week. What I am looking for is a web based
scheduling utility or a Microsoft Access database, either would be
ok(It must be one of the two).
What it has to do is at a certain point in the week, say Tuesday,
employees can log in and confirm their shift for up coming weeks or
change it, request to work overtime, request time off and so on.
I have been doing some looking around on Google, but a lot of the
scheduling systems out there do not allow for employees to set their
schedule, its mostly manager based.
If there is a utility out there that can do this, or is close, I would
really like to know. Thanks

Is this along the right lines?

..."WhenToWorkSM is the most advanced online employee scheduling
software program available. It automatically creates schedules using
employee preferred work times and also includes automatic e-mail
notifications, company bulletin board and employee tracking..."

It is not free.
