I want a summary of the best websites that can help me to learn VBA.

By best I mean simplest and easiest to learn from as a beginner, not
most technically advanced.

I don't want to learn VB or VB.net, only how to create and edit macros
in microsoft office applications such as Excel and Access using the
"Visual Basic Editor" within Excel and/or Access. Also VBA for Corel
Draw.

Any information you may chance upon concerning offline learning
(books, etc) during your search will be appreciated as well.

Hello grouper,

I am mainly interested in the best websites, the ones that will "take
me by the hand" and walk me through VBA. Until now I have only found
"dive in at the deep end" sites requiring $30 - $80 expense with no
guarantee that they will simplify or streamline the learning, or
indeed any example of their lessons.

The links you mention, would you be fairly certain that they rank
among the very best of what is available ?

how unlikely would it be that any better ones exist than what you can
provide links to ?

ebooks are a possibility, I would like more information about how you
ascertain that the ones you have are the best.

Do you have any experience in learning VBA online ?

I do not recommend online learning aids as they tend to be linear
which means you will be forced down certain paths that may or may not
be beneficial to your learning experience. You could certainly start
with one or two basic online sources if you can find them but when
learning VBA and macros the best tools are a good book that has a good
introduction to VBA and the Excel macro recorder. One of the better
books is "Excel 2003 Power Programming with VBA" by John Walkenbach.
Start with the introductory chapters in the book to get a feel of what
VBA and macros are about and how you can start building simple macros
yourself. Use Excel's macro recorder to automatically create macros
for specific problems you are trying to solve and then review the
results in the VBA editor. Using a book such as the one mentioned
above enables you to have a readily available reference as you review
simple concepts or dive into more complex Excel structures and
techniques. Once you are past the basics there are two additional
resources you will find invaluable: www.expertsexchange.com where you
can ask specific questions and get very quick answers and Chip
Pearson's site http://www.cpearson.com/excel/topic.htm which gives
specific tutorials on some of the more esoteric Excel programming
tasks.

I proram VBA for a living. Mainly access. The best site by far is
http://www.mvps.org/access/
there are loads of downloadble, fully explained coded examples.
Ranging from simple to advanced. A very good book to use is the
Access Developers Handbook - which comes with a CD loaded with
examples, the book is very clear, and is good for beginner to
advanced.

The help files and in access/VBA and excel VBA are also very good.
Press Alt F11 in access to open VB Editor, and then use the help from
there.

also, there are a lot of newsgroups with people willing to help !
