There is a webpage listing a few such services at
http://www.sweden.cc/dir/Teknik/Internet/Fax_via_Internet/ . I have
also spoken to a Swedish friend of me who tipped me of some additional
ones.
faxa.se (http://www.faxa.se/english/englishintro.asp)
-----------------------------------------------------
"We provide you with your own Swedish fax number that makes it easy
for you to send and receive faxes. No need for separate phone lines
or fax machines. With an e-mail account and access to Internet you
are all set to use our service.
Our service saves money for you, no need to get that fax machine or to
sign up for an account with high startup fees. Our monthly fee is
lower than the cost for a phone line. We offer you to try our service
for 14 days without any charge."
"Basic" service (receiving incoming faxes as an PDF attachment to your
e-mail) costs US$ 9/month, the "Pro" version is US$ 2 more and offers
the ability to send faxes as well (by sending mail via a specific
e-mail address). Outgoing faxes will be charged a fee depending on
the number of pages and the location of the receiver. You can pay via
PayPal.
tellustalk (http://www.tellustalk.com/uk/products/fax/default.htm)

"EMAIL-TO-FAX SERVICE
TO SEND FAXES
You don?t have to install any software. You can send a fax from any
type of computer, even at home or when you are traveling. To send a
fax is as easy as sending an email. [..] You can send a fax to all
fax machines in the world. When you send a fax, a cover page with
your personal information is automatically created. You design the
cover page yourself using MS Word or another familiar application.
[..] Attach any document just as you do when sending an email. We
can handle most document formats. Within a couple of minutes from
sending, you will receive a fax transmission receipt.
TO RECEIVE A FAX
You get the fax number from us. Incoming faxes will be delivered as
email messages. We can offer you fax numbers in most parts of Europe.
The fax is never busy. Only you can read your faxes. You can receive
faxes in one ore more alternative email accounts.
Administration
The administrative tasks are few and simple. You do it over the
Internet on special web-pages exposed to you when you have registered
as a customer. You appoint one or a few key administrators for
company-wide administration, e.g. fax number distribution for incoming
faxes and control over the administrative web-pages. The end-user
administers his/her own account information."
The Swedish version of their web pages
(http://www.tellustalk.com/sweden/products/fax/default.htm) states
that they offer incoming fax numbers within any Swedish area code.
tellustalk's monthly fees for sending faxes are GB£ 27 (or ? 45) per
domain plus GB£ 1 (? 1.8) per user. The fees for sending faxes are
listed at http://www.tellustalk.com/uk/price/FaxTransactionPrices.asp.
Additional fees apply for receiving faxes:

Gotafax (http://www.gotanet.se/GotaFax.pdf)
-------------------------------------------
Götalandsnätet AB offers a service that allows you to send or receive
faxes. Incoming faxes are forwarded to your e-mail address; you can
also receive a notification via a SMS message (if your cell phone
supports this feature). Outgoing faxes are sent by "printing" them
via a special Microsoft Windows printer driver.
The set-up fee is SEK 495, monthly fees are SEK 30 per "fax box" and
SEK 10 per fax number. Sending faxes are priced at the nominal fees
plus SEK 1 per minute. Receiving faxes cost SEK 0.50 per fax. All
prices exclude the Swedish VAT (25 %).
Götalandsnätet seems to only have web pages in Swedish, but you could
try contacting them via info@gotanet.se to get further information in
English. Additional contact information is available at
http://www.gotanet.se/kontakta_oss.html
SUNET - Swedish University Computer Network
(http://basun.sunet.se/html_docs/info_sunet/fax_gate.html)
----------------------------------------------------------
SUNET offers a free email-to-fax gateway, but it is only open for
users at Swedish universities and colleges. I assume this do not
apply to you. In addition, their FAQ at http://basun.sunet.se/faxfaq/
states that they do not offer a fax-to-email service and that they do
not have any plans of doing so in the future, either.
I hope that my answer is helpful to you. Please request an answer
clarification if you thinks that my answer is unsatisfactory in any
way. |
