If you get use windows XP getting the Service Pack 2 from windows updates should stop most pop-ups if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ Alternatively you could use Mozilla Firefox which is an Internet Browser which stops pop-ups and has a lot of other features. I personally prefer Firefox to any other browser. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ |

I switched to Firefox. Wow, it's incredible. Fast loading, no popups, and you can browse in TABS!! Only one Firefox open, and all your windows are tabbed. Very, very cool. Plus, it's SECURE, because it's not integrated with Windows. I was used to it in less than a day and can say with certainty I will not go back. --It's painless, go ahead... |

Hello, For years i use MyPopupKiller wich is the smallest freeware pop-up blocker on the internet (77Kb) and i never had pop-up problems.I can be used with Ineternet Explorer,Netscape/Mozilla,MSN Explorer and Opera + other options. As a secundary browser you can use as another user(cynthia-ga) suggested Mozzila who has an integrated pop-up blocker. As an aditional info there are some java scripts that look like pop-ups but they cannot be blocked by any pop-up blocker. Good luck, Authentyk |

I think you should probably get google toolbar. Not only will it stop pop ups but it will also give you a quick search option. In my analysys your problem is not just pop ups from websites but also spyware infecting your computer. I suggest getting Ad-aware SE personal for free from http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10319876.html?tag=lst-0-1 . It will help just be sure to keep the definitions updated. This will Stop most if not all of your pop-ups. I only get like one popup a week now. |
