Hello.

The Senate Judiciary Committee did not vote on the Gonzales nomination yesterday.

From an Associated Press article published this morning:

'A committee Democrat, who said his own vote was still undecided,
agreed with that prediction. "There's a lower standard, frankly, for
attorney general than for judge, because you give the president who he
wants," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., also appearing on "Today."
...
Specter said the GOP-led Senate could vote to confirm the 49-year-old
Texan as John Ashcroft's replacement before Bush begins his second
term on Jan. 20. Committee Democrats addressed Gonzales as though his
confirmation was all but assured.'

Gonzales Confirmation," hosted by Tampa Bay Online

From today's Boston Globe:

"Despite their tough questions, no Democratic senator said he planned
to vote against Gonzales. Senate Judiciary chairman Arlen Specter,
Republican of Pennsylvania, said a confirmation vote will come soon,
perhaps before Bush's Jan. 20 inauguration."

Thus, there was no "result" yesterday, but the conventional wisdom is
that Gonzales will be confirmed.

I hope this helps.
