I want to find as much information about rebuilding manual gearboxes
for performance cars. I am especially interested in finding out the
vital parts of the gearbox which need uprating and what chemical or
mechanical processes can be used to strengthen original parts.

Please note the gearbox I am rebuilding is for a Nissan CA18DET
engine. It is a 5 speed manual box.

It would be better to buy from someone that has already paid for the
learning curve: http://www.levelten.com/store/import/packages/toyota.htm
It you want to learn, start working for one of these companies. The
drag industry is also a place to look. ...bill in corvallis

I would love to buy one off the shelf but i'm afraid in the UK there
are no off the shelf boxes and the engineer shops I could get to
rebuild mine are outside of my budget. However I do have access to
people with experience in building drag gearboxes and the reason for
my question here is to bolster my own knowledge and broaden any
options I may have.
