Hey yall,  got a quick one.  I'm doing some research trying to locate
the best 50 band official websites as well as the worst 50.  Any
inside track on where i could locate a service that ranks them or
points to the coolest 50?  My definition of coolest is the most used,
most entertaining, best design, and place that keeps people coming
back.

I don't need a list of all 100 artist websites.  The 50 best is most
important.   Also if a list is begun with ideas how to find more then
that would be acceptable...
My definition of band is any commercial music artist of any genre from
Korn to Jimmy Buffet.

I doubt that anyone will want to compile a list of 100 websites (50
best, 50 worst) for the price you've set.

Also, you might want to define "band." There are rock bands, marching
bands, jazz bands, and so on. If you have a specific kind of band in
mind, it would help to know.

This is the best I can do. Considering you are asking a rather huge
question which would envolve alot more work. I doubt this is accurate.

here's a list of the top 500 artist websites in 2004, courtesy of the
Digital Music Awards.  The rankings are based on public votes and also
include unofficial sites.  in many cases, the quality of the artist's
music is not a factor when it comes to making the list.  i'm sure
there are many deserving winners in the top 500, but because it is
people's choice, there will also be sites listed mainly due to fans of
the band's MUSIC, instead of it actually being a great website.
