In solving (x-1/x)-(2/x+2)=o for x, what is an equivalent equation?

you can simplify the equation as followings:

(x-1/x)-(2/x+2)=o

(x-1/x)=(2/x+2)

then (x-1)(x+2)= 2x

next is x^2-x-2=0
final an equivalent equaiton is (x-1)(x+2)=0
