Cynthia,

I am still interested in a device that can merge the hot/cold water
streams from separate old-style spigots. The initial question
(http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=439775)
expired yesterday, but I am reposting it in the hopes that you or
your friend may have some leads on an answer.

So I decided to go out and get a digital camera.
(This seemed to me to be as good an excuse as any.)
I took and posted a couple of pictures of the sink:

Hopefully this will give you and your friend a good enough sense of what
I am looking at. Please let me know if you need something different.

Thanks again for your time,
trackerwannabe

trackerwannabe,

I just wanted to let you know I see this question. I'll call John
Chambers (my plumber friend) and ask him to come by and look at the
pics. I'll be in touch soon...

Hi again...

John has been busy with contractors after a fire in his home. He
knows you are waiting and asked me to email him the pics so he can
reply to me from home. Shouldn't be long.

Just to clarify, you want to retain your present taps, even to the
extent that you don?t want to realign them. Can?t say I have ever seen
the item you describe. Bit difficult to see how it could be fitted
because tap spouts are non-round. If however you really want to
connect them together, you could make up some fitting. You?d need two
universal tap connectors, the outside tap hose type. The thick rubber
seal accommodates any shape and a big wing-nut secures. Then you
connect them together with a ?Y? piece. All items are readily
available in snap-lock style. The assembly will look really stylish.

Many places legally demand that check valves are incorporated into
such couplings to prevent potentially dirty water being forced back up
through the system. Up to you.
