Dear itsalphaandome-ga;
According to Churches of London, vol. ii.; Malcolm: Londinum
Redivivum, vol. iv. p. 356; Allen: London, vol. iii. p. 530., the
palindrome (which means, ?Wash our transgressions, not only our
faces?) is found on the front of these churches:
St. Mary's, Nottingham.
The basilica of St. Sophia, Constantinople
St. Stephen d'Egres, Paris
St. Menin's Abbey, Orléans Dulwich College;
Worlingsworth (Suffolk)
Harlow (Essex)
Knapton (Norfolk)
Melton Mowbray (it has since been removed to a neighboring hamlet)
St. Martin's, Ludgate (London)
Hadleigh (Suffolk)

I?m not certain which of these, if any, are located in a ?Devonshire
village? so please let me know if this answers your question.
