The Masco Collection, indeed, was quite esoteric and another of its important paintings, "The Picture Writer's Story," lot 80, by George de Forest Brush, sold for $1,707,500, well over its high estimate of $1,200,000 and quite a remarkable price for the 23-by-36-inch oil. It seems that the original piece is owned by The Anschutz Collection. And I cannot find a print of this painting anywhere but the book at Amazon.com does say it has pictures from the complete collection. I am posting a link for the current owner. He does refuse interviews I don't think you will have much luck contacting him about this paticular painting. Im sorry I cannot be of more help. I am glad to have helped with what I could. I checked kinkos to see if you could have them do a poster size of it. But unforunatly they cannot do it with out prior conesnt from the artist/owner. * Professional photographs cannot be reproduced without written permission from the photographer. Thanks for calling Kinko's. I sent for the book and I know I cannot have them enlarge it for me, though if you use a lazer printer there you can enlarge certain parts of it and paste them together. To be honest with you David, a millionaire in Denver, is sending me a print of that painting and I am doing a reproduction 24x36.... he's not passing it off as an original, but it has to be that good. I've done about 15 paintings like this for him and put a down payment on a house from it. I've done many paintings (reproductions) so that people can cancel their insurance and put the original in a bank vault. It helps to have a friend at Kinko's..lol. Thank you so much David. |

I actually have a friend who is a artist I tried to get him to do a reproduction for me in the past. An yes that is a good point keeping the originall locked up. And good luck with the painting, I have tried and my art looks like something a 7 year old did. |
