In what country are you located? And what kinds of goods do you have in mind?

Do you intend to do the importing yourself? Or do you simply want to
purchase imported items from a US distributer for resale in your
store? There's an awfully big difference between the two?
It would also help to know what sort of merchandise you have in mind.

Great questions. Truthfully, I do not know the answer to your
question. This is my first endeavor into the ecommerce world. Maybe
the question should be what is the best and simplest way to set up a
store ?
1. Should I import? Who, What , When,& How
2. US distributor or distributors? Sounds like the better choice.
3. Can you tell me?
4. Types of merchandise, Tools, House Wares, Jewelry, Electronics.
5. Is it best to stay with a focus with regard to selling merchandise?
6. If I need more answers, are you available for hire ?

bigeasy10-ga,
You're scarin' me here, buddy. The link in the comments section
(below) is a good one, but it certainly does not answer all your
questions. Starting up an online business is a big undertaking, it it
sounds like you need to get the basics under your belt.
A good starting place is this link:
http://onlinebusiness.about.com/od/startingup/
Spend some time exploring here -- there is a lot of information, and a
lot of links. Be careful though -- the "Sponsored links" are merely
advertisements, so there's no real quality control over them. But the
links chosen by the about.com editors tend to be high quality
information resources.
In particular, you might want to have a look at the "Online Business
101" article to get yourself started. The "Drop Shipping" article also
might be a good one to check out in terms of quickly getting access to
a variety of merchandise.
Let me know how this looks to you.

Thank you, yes it looks like a good place to start learning. I don't
understand how i am scarin' you. All i want to do is set up a store on
the internet and sell some items and make alitte money. Simplest and
most profitable way to do it. Not looking to knock out Amazom.com.
Can you tell me what question, or part, of my questions are scariest
and why? This information might keep me out of trouble the future that
is the reason I came here to ask my questions in the first place.
