My laptop's battery is on it's way out, and the battery I have for it only uses a fraction of the space available in it's bay. I can build a more efficient battery pack, including the protection and charging circuit, but I need a way to "talk" to the computer. So, I need only one of these questions answered: Where can I buy one or more used or new Sony Laptop PCGA-BP2NX (or compatible) battery packs for as little as possible? I *do not care* if it doesn't hold a charge, and I *do not care* if it's case is damaged. Or: What is the pin-out and protocol information for the 9-slot, 8-pin connector on the end of the Sony Laptop PCGA-BP2NX battery pack? | |

Hardly easy. Ebay has sold several of this type of battery for less than 30 dollars. Froogle.google.com has them for more like $100. Those are new besides; I'm looking for a junk battery so I can use its parts for scrap. A printer shop, however, might be more likely to have a bunch of discarded laptops with bad batteries. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Okay, nice answer, but it's not relevant to the question. I requote: "I *do not care* if it doesn't hold a charge, and I *do not care* if it's case is damaged." I never said it had to be new. New would be nice, but they're usually more expensive than used. If you want to be a researcher, you need to pay more attention to the question. There has got to be some place out there that has acquired a bunch of dead company laptops and accessories that would love to get rid of the batteries that don't work, and I'll even pay for it! |

You must have misunderstood that part of the question too: I was asking for the best price, not how to search Ebay. What I said was I want the least expensive battery. Nobody else seemed to have trouble understanding that. Mother911 pointed out some pretty good prices, and seemed to understand what it is that I'm really after. I think what you're trying to say is the best price I'm going to get is ~$30+shipping or so on Ebay, which isn't bad. Good luck with becoming a researcher. Thanks for the help, I don't like this question anymore. Bye! |
