Need 7/24 Heart Rate Monitor

As part of my new diet/exercise program to lose weight, I need to know
how many calories I am burning in the course of the day and night.

I bought a heart rate monitor from Polar.  It tracks my heart rate via
a wireless chest strap and the watch tells me how many calories I have
burned during each workout.  The problem is that bit only works during
workouts.  While it will show you your hear rate anytime, it only
counts calories when yur heart rate is high.

I need something like my $100 Polar unit, but something that work
24/7.  I don?t mind wearing a chest strap all the time.
