Hi all. I'm looking for a movie database. The movies I'm looking for
are from 1950 to present. Just American films. The movie list must be
able to be imported into spreadsheet. I've already tried imdb.com.
While they have a great database, I can't import these movies into a
spreadsheet since there database has directors, producers etc.

Thanks

Dave

You should have used the "thier" spelling, considering your meaning.
 "there" doesn't quite fit grammatically!

Well harvard the spelling should actually have been - "their" and not
"THIER" as suggested by you.

And BTW even the spelling "THERE" should be correct in this usage if
you read it as ..... (over) there, database has directors.....,
because the site imdb.com has already been referred to in the previous
sentence.

You mean an Access database? Or just a database with statistics? If
it's the latter, IMDB should do fine. All you have to do is punch the
desired statistics into Excel. The information's out there, but I
don't know if anyone's compiled it in the way you're looking for, so
why not do it yourself?

You could write a program to convert IMDb's web pages into a format
you need. This is called "screen sraping." It wouldn't be that hard,
since their pages follow a very straightforward template. You would
need to spider the site too.
