Politicalguru indicated in his last e-mail that he had some possible
suggestions. I answered that he should send them . I have not received
anything and I have one day left on my allotted research time. Thanks,

Dear OMT,

In your answer to my comment you made it clear that you're looking
first and foremost for the Old Maine ones: I haven't been successful
in finding those (but only other loafers, as well as discussion groups
of people who share your fetish).

I wish you success in finding what you were looking for. Please let me
know if you'll "settle" for the other shoes (the sources providing
these shoes might be good sources in finding the Old Maine Trotters in
the future, if they "stumble" upon them). You don't have to worry
about your question expiring - I can answer here.

Dear Politicalguru,
Go ahead and post any info about loafers or groups on this site. Also,
other researchers may refer to comments for question ID 442013 for
background on this subject. Thanks, OMT

Dear OMT,

As you're probably aware of, yours is a difficult quest. None of the
stores I've visited had "Old Maine Trotters", only other 1950s style
ladies' loafers.

Loafer Fetish ? Relevant Sites
==============================

Please note, that it is prohibited to link here to adult sites: some
of the sites on the following list are not liked, but rather given in
a written form.

You should start with Eyes Cast Down. EyesCastDown.com is a blog all
about shoe fetishes, and includes links to several forums, message
boards and sites about shoe fetishes.

Several Google Groups are dedicated to fetish; some of the posters
admit loafer fetish in these groups:

alt.sex.fetish.feet

soc.sexuality.spanking

alt.sex

alt.sex.fetish.fashion

alt.personals.fetish

Google Groups address is : http://groups.google.com ? a search for
[loafers + fetish] within these groups yields many postings.

ICQ groups list one group for loafers fetish and several other
interesting results when searching for "shoe fetish" in general:

<http://www.icq.com/search/sitesearch.php?q=loafers+fetish> [though it
is not clear that the group is not for gay loafer-lovers/ My apology
if it is, indeed].

This is the only forum that in fact operates like a chat. However, the
site Bondage .com also has a chat and several forums dedicated to
different aspects of shoe fetish.

Another site that has a message board is "feet dreams .com". I have
found several 1950s loafer messages there.

I hope this answered your question. I know I scanned the web for
several weeks(!) to find your specific loafers (avail) ? and I am
posting this answer, which is clearly only partial (since I couldn't
find the specific Old Maine Trotters) at your request. Please contact
me if you need any clarifications on this answer before you rate it.
My search strategy has been to combine searches for terms such as
[vintage, 1950s, 50s] and terms referring to the loafers.

The closest to the Trotters of the fifties era were the vintage Merona
Italian leather penny loafers for sale on Yahoo but they did not have
the handsewn heel kickers which distinguished most of the women's
penny loafers of that era...especially, the Old Maine Trotters. One of
your researchers indicated that possibly millions of pairs of Trotters
were made during the fifties and early sixties. Should not there be a
pair or two somewhere? Furthermore, I contacted most of the vintage
clothiers and submitted requests for women's penny loafers of the
fifties. Lastly, the penny loafer blogs on Google were years old, and
I was reluctant to respond.

Dear OMT,

You are absolutly right, but I also have no explanation for this
phenomenon: maybe you should publish an ad in places such as Craig's
List (<www.craigslist.com>), or better: perhaps in a magazine such as
the AARP magazine, where there are - maybe - readers who have had
these shoes.

I am sorry that there are no further sources, but these current
sources are the ones found after much research. I doubt it if there
are any discussion groups - perhaps except in extreme Porn sites -
that I haven't found.

sundevils27, The loafers pictured are indeed Old Maine Trotters but
not the style I am looking for. These were probably made in the late
eighties or nineties. The loafers I am looking for were made in the
fifties and early sixties and were distinguished by their soft leather
and handsewn vamps and heel kickers. They were extremely popular
during that period and close to six million pairs were made. I am
hoping we will locate some in attics, closets or old warehouses.

politicalguru, Go ahead and send information you might have. Thanks, OMT
