Hello Flipse,

According to Anal Sex Yes! (which cites the University of California
at San Francisco's HIV InSite), approximately 25% of heterosexual
adults in the US have engaged in anal sex at least once.

The same site estimates that between 5% and 10% engage in the activity
regularly, and cites a survey indicating that 6% of women and 8% of
men engage in anal sex at least once a month.

Hope that helps!

There is a complex and sometimes awkward practice called
"Quellenforschung." No, this is not a sexual practice, but the
discipline of "source criticism." If you're looking for statistics on
the prevalence of anal sex, would you start with a site called
"AnalSexYes"? Maybe for $2, but still...

The study they site?which I can't find, but let's grant it exists?has
lots of different numbers. S&M workers in Brazil do it a lot; random
women called on the phone do it less. (I'm amazed 4% of women called
out of the blue would even *discuss it*!) I'm not sure where this gets
you.

And, anyway, it's still just one study. Personally, I don't trust a
site called AnalSexYes to do the necessary and sceptical homework.
It's not a sufficient technique, but you might see what AnalSexNo.com
has to say.
