CW --

I have some pretty good baseball sources with major league and minor
league data. It's only been within the past few years that minor
league data has become widely available, though sources such as
Retrosheet have EVERY professional Major League baseball game back to
the beginning.

There is no Chris Wright shown in MLB. Below is the Retrosheet index
of players that goes back to the 1800s:
http://www.retrosheet.org/index.html

Minor league data shows TWO Chris Wrights playing college baseball in
2002. One hit .337 for Penn State; one hit .321 for Long Beach State.
Baseball America shows a Chris Wright PITCHING during the 2003-2004
season for a team in the Venezuelan Winter Leagues.

Chris --

I can't really answer your question, so I'm going to post some
resources for you on Minor League stats. You may wish to write to the
editors at Baseball America to see if there are better resources than
I have. (I keep a long list of baseball links to the Internet, being
a big Cleveland Indians fan.)

Baseball America
http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/Stats/playerfind.html

Minor League Stats
http://www.forecaster.ca/thestar/baseball/playerindex.cgi

The Baseball Cube
http://www.sports-wired.com/

This last one is a database that you can purchase -- and the
description makes it sound as if it has the best data for you:
The Baseball Archive
http://baseball1.com/c-minors.html

Of course you could contact the Pittsfield team but you've almost
certainly thought of that already!

Best regards,
