Hi there,

Can anyone explain to me if it is also possible to compute
correlations between a nominal and an ordinal variable in spss. How do
i do this? And second when you got the correlation results is it also
to describe the relationship.

So lets say i would like to get a correlation between gender(nominal)
and an ordinal variable. How do I see wether or not the correltion is
positive/negative for male/female when I give male the code "1"and
female the code "2" since nominal variabales do not indicate ranking?

Thanks
