I want to know what SAT scores and GRE scores reflect equivalent
competence. Note that you can't compare percentiles because a 50th
%ile SAT score means average for college-bound students but a 50th
%ile GRE score means average for grad school-bound students--a much
more accomplished and competitive population.

If this question can't be answered generally, I at least want to know
what GRE score makes a test taker as distinguished as a 95th %ile SAT
scorer.

This is complicated by the fact that there have been multiple versions
of the SAT and GRE. I'm most interested in those versions of the test
that have existed in the last decade or so, but more info is always
welcome.

Well, there's a web site that converts GRE & SAT scores to IQ...
http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/GREIQ.html

You could pick out a particular IQ, say 130 (on a 15 points per
standard deviation scale) and see that's the equivalent of a 1240 GRE
(verbal + quantitative).

Then you could go to one of the SAT charts and see what the equivalent IQ...

...1300 on the modern SAT I.

...or 1250 on the pre-1995 SAT.

Does this work for you?
