Hi rockersquirrel

Unfortunately I couldn't get the information you requested without
paying for a subscription to it, but I did find the source and some
research you might be interested in, courtesy of Arbitron:
http://www.arbitron.com/
Arbitron provide ratings information for local and regional radio.
It's called 'Radio Nationwide'.
http://www.arbitron.com/national_radio/home.htm
Unfortunately, you cannot access this information without
subscription. However, they do have lots of other free info on their
website. Their Radio Today report has lots of useful info on Rock
radio, and reveals that there are 869 Rock stations in the US! Hope
this at least puts you on the right track.
