Does Iraqi TV news show Abraham Lincoln helping Sumatra victims? In addition to whatever conventional VHF/UHF stations operate in Iraq in 2005 I believe Iraqis have an indigenous satellite source called Al-Iraqiya. Originally funded by the CPA it is an additional perspective along the spectrum together with Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabiya. So, has al-Iraqiya, or any other Iraqi-TV covered the Abraham Lincoln helping Sumatra tsunami victims with 48 helicopters flying in aid and evacuating casualities? I define "show" as news or current affairs (ideally) or as paid commercials of less than 60 seconds. I exclude 30 minute "paid programming" a.k.a. informercials. |

All but the poorest Iraqi's have satellite tv, accessing 5 middle eastern and european satellites showing just under 1000 channels collectively. Included in these channels are Al Jazeera which is the most popular news and while it has briefly mentioned the US's part in aid operations the Abraham Lincoln has not be mentioned specifically to my knowledge. Most Iraqi's are too busy trying to get the ink of thier finger so they dont get beheaded for voting to be interested in what the US is doing in sumatra. |
