The most recent Russian Census was taken in 2002. At that time, the
total population was 145,164, or 106,427 in urban areas and 38,737 in

According to a Russian born friend of mine, those census figures are
in millions of people, not thousands.

Errr.. that cannot be. It has to be in the 1000's.  In other words,
Russia has a pop of 145.164 million people.

The name of the country is "Russia".  Russian is an adjective.
