Hi timespacette,

By searching for La Conchita on the USPS ZIP Code Lookup by city
(http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/citytown_zip.jsp), I found that it is part
of Ventura, CA 93001.

Then, by searching for ["La Conchita, CA 93001"] on Google, I found
various addresses, including maps for La Conchita Market:

Results for ["la conchita ca 93001"]
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=%22la+conchita+ca+93001

"Map of 6905 Surfside Dr Ventura CA"
MapQuest
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&address=6905+SURFSIDE+DR&city=VENTURA&state=CA&zipcode=93001

"6905 Surfside Dr Ventura, CA 93001-9728"
Yahoo! Maps
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=BYS3jup_0TokUu35Y7_L5Nrv9P3.Q63c_Q--&csz=VENTURA+CA+93001&country=us&cat=&trf=0

If you zoom in on those maps (and center the Yahoo! map), you'll see
all of the street names for the area. If you zoom out to a medium
distance, you'll see its location in relation to Santa Barbara or the
main part of Ventura. (Apparently, MapQuest and Yahoo! Maps consider
the area to be "Punta." But Google has no results for ["punta ca
93001"], and the USPS doesn't recognize Punta, CA.)

The street names in the Google results match those on the maps (at
maximum zoom). Moreover, those maps also match the map currently
available from the Ventura County Star (a newspaper I learned of by
searching for ["la conchita"] in Google News).

"La Conchita is a cute, little residential town on the east side of
Highway 101 across from La Conchita-Seacliff Beach and Mussel Shoals.
Located north of Ventura with its nearest city, Carpinteria just a
five or ten minute drive away (to the north), the town consists of
several streets and a gas station/ general store."

Here's a bit of info, including a map. For some reason, the map didn't
appear immediately for me, but in a few moments I could see it:

Does this help?

I live in Ventura and drive past La Conchita often. It is really just
a "wide spot in the road" roughly half way between here and Santa
Barbara. There are some houses and a gas station, wedged into a small
flat spot between Highway 101 and the bluff. It's not a town or
"hamlet" as it has been described, but actually a small, isolated
neighborhood. The residents were unsuccessful in a lawsuit against
the county after he 1995 slide, and the county considers them to be
assuming the risk of living there.
