Hello kearney,

Here is what MedicineNet says about wine and zithromax:
==============
Doctors Answer
"Although a single glass of wine will probably not hurt, in general,
we suggest that you not mix alcohol with prescription medications."
This is because Zithromax is metabolized in the liver, as is alcohol.

Additionally, do not take Maalox or any other aluminum or magnesium
based antacids while on Zithromax.
"DRUG INTERACTIONS: Unlike erythromycin and clarithromycin,
azithromycin is generally considered free of interactions with most
other medicines. It is recommended that azithromycin not be taken at
the same time as aluminum- or magnesium- based antacids, such as
Mylanta or Maalox because antacids will bind the azithromycin and
prevent it from being absorbed from the intestine."
