Question ID: 456515
I have an allergy to wheat and when i drink beer in the UK i get a red
rash around my neck and my eyes get itchy, but I do perservere. I have
noticed that when on holiday in some places namley the Dominican
Republic and Morrocco (drinking Flag Pilsner) I have no reaction at
all. I suspect there might be a difference in the brewing process does
anyone have an idea of what it could be and also is there a beer for
people with a wheat allergy?

Dear orangespud-ga,
Although I have been unable to find specific information on the
brewing process for Flag Pilsner, it seems to depend on whether barley
or wheat was used in the process of making the beer, and the
quantities which were used. I can give you some web sites on how beer
is brewed, but more importantly I'm sure, is some information on wheat
free beers in the UK, and some which you may be able to order from
abroad.
Would this answer your question? I would have no objection if you
wanted to reduce the question price as I can only answer half of it.

I strongly suggest that you conduct some scientific research.

Working through /imported/ bottled beers would be very interesting.
You need to make sure that the beers are /not/ bottled in the UK

I would personally start with 'German brewed and German bottled
beers', then start investigating Czech beers.
True German beers are brewed under the strict purity laws that prevent
interesting additives apart I believe from water, 'malt', hops and
yeast.

At one stage try a German Weissbier - which I know is made from pure wheat.

Real Pilsner is made from barley, never from wheat

So simplest (and pleasant way) to proceed may be to try
the original Pilsner:
