Hello jason000123 and thank you for your question. Liam Brady crossed the ball to Alan Sunderland when he scored the winning goal for Arsenal in the 1979 FA Cup Final at Wembley. "Liam Brady, having earlier fashioned goals for Talbot and Frank Stapleton, capped a virtuoso performance by flying down the left wing and crossing to the far post. He found Alan Sunderland, who slid in the winner to cap the most remarkable finish ever seen in an FA Cup final. FA Cup Final 1979 Arsenal 3-2 Man Utd Scorers: Arsenal: Talbot 12; Stapleton 43; Sunderland 89 Man Utd: McQueen 86; McIlroy 88 HT: 2-0 Att: 100,000" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/1321998.stm Those were the days! Thank you for your question, and if you need any clarification of my answer, do not hesitate to ask before rating my answer. Very best regards. Hey, Liam Brady lives near me! I've met him a few times. A really great guy. His family are nice too. |

I cried as a boy in 78' when Ipswich beat us in the cup final. It was great when Arsenal grabbed that last gasp winner the following year against Man U. It was my first ever taste of success as a Gunners supporter! |

To be honest I'm not really a football fan, but it was fun researching your question. In 1978 I was 13 and more in to skateboards, space dust (a revolting kind of sweet that used to expand an pop in your mouth) Swop Shop on Saturday mornings etc....etc.... Thank you for the five star rating and kind words. Welcome to Google Answers. Very best regards THX1138 |

I was always too scared to get on a skateboard. Space dust, I remember that alright it was great...I can still re-live the sensation of the popping sensation in my mind. I was also a big fan of Noel Edmonds and Swap Shop, I thought Sarah Greene was a babe! |

She was! Just imagine she was born on 24th October 1958 that will make her 47 years old this year! I also remember "The Professionals" That scorcher of a summer in 1976, endless Summer holidays, Warlord & 2000AD comics, the list is almost endless! Have a retro couple of minutes from 1979: http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/years/1979main.htm All the best THX1138 |

Sorry to be a pain. I don't wish to rain on anyone's parade but Graham Rix crossed for Alan Sunderland to score that goal. Liam Brady broke through the midfield and laid the ball to Rix. Up the Arsenal! |
