Dear arcady-ga,
It is from Oresteia of Aeschylus, but the translation I have found
presents it slightly differently.
I refer you to The Oresteia of Aeschylus : A New Translation by Ted
Hughes, on page 13
Paperback: 198 pages, Publisher: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (September 4, 2000)

"The truth Has to be melted out of our stubborn lives By suffering.
Nothing speaks the truth, Nothing tells us how things really are,
Nothing forces us to know What we do not want to know Except pain. And
this is how the Gods declare their love. Truth comes with pain."
I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before
rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as
soon as I receive it.
Thank you
