I'm well familiar with .avi and divx and have no problem playing them,
but this "zr" thing has me, as well as all my players and plug-ins,
stumped. What is this "zr" thing anyway? The files I'm trying to play
use this nameing convention:

genericname.divx-[zr].avi

The "genericname" part is the title if the clip that varries from file
to file. The ".divx-[zr].avi" is common to all of the clips.

My Question: What player with what codec(s) do I need for successful
Win2K PC Playback?

$10 Tip question: What do I need to use/do to burn these files to DVD. Be specific.

Hi nouvelleorleans,

Try downloading AVICode to find out what codecs you need - perhaps
that will solve your problems.

AVIcodec v1.1.0.4"
"AVIcodec is a nice little tool for identifying what codecs you need
in order to play your multimedia files."
"For downloading the codecs you're missing, you should visit our codec page..."

Please let us know how it goes,
hummer

Hi,

After some searching, seems to be an old version of DivX, try
installing the latest version of DivX.

Can you give a precise filename, so I can download it myself, or can
you post a short clip somwhere, so I can have a look at it?

What do you mean by "burn to DVD"? Do you want to see them on a normal
standalone DVD player?

Thanks.
endo

Actually I do prefer gspot. But what I think it might be is just a
misslabled divx file. Try changing the file extnetion to just avi or
mpg. And see if this works. If you are worried about any problems you
could always right click on the file and copy and paste it somewhere
else that way you will have the untouched original.

Although the filename says otherwise,
have you tried the XviD Codec?
