I found a 1996 COMPUTER WORLD article discussing ProNet software.
http://www.knology.net/~gmallen/cim/CW_PD.html

Could you please clarify if this is the kind of information tht you
require or if you are looking for something else?

Thanks,
Bobbie7

This is too general. I was hoping the we could find a story with more
specifics in it on what it looked like and how it works or we would
find a site offering the system for sale. Ford did purchase it and
made they renamed it.
If I can find out what the Ford Name is I will let you know.

This is simular to what you are looking for, I believe.

The paperless factory gives employees electronic access to
drawinggraphics, photos, process specifications and video. The new
Shop FloorControl module of the Manufacturing Execution System
(MES-SF)delivers electronic work orders to manufacturing personnel.
