While I admit that this is speculation on my part, it is based on "facts" I found at the Minnesota Twins website. From the Twins' website: "On October 26, [1960], Calvin Griffith, president of the Washington Senators, made the historic decision to move his club to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, thereby giving birth to the "Minnesota Twins," named after the two Upper Midwest cities." Given this and the fact that Minneapolis/St. Paul area is commonly referred to as the "twin cities" area, it would follow that TC stands for Twin Cities.
