Harry Burt, a Youngstown, Ohio, ice cream parlor owner, who invented
the ice cream truck in 1920

Burt has been erroneously credited with inventing the ice cream truck
in 1920 but images of earlier ice cream delivery trucks can be found
dating to around 1917 (give or take a couple of years), several years
before Burt even got into the business.

WILLIAMS' ICE CREAM TRUCK
(may be even earlier than 1915)

WHOLESALE ICE CREAM TRUCK
(may predate all of them)

These are just a few I managed to find that clearly disputes Mr. Burt's claim.

...I should have said, "disputes the claims made in Mr. Burt's behalf"
since I have not seen any documentation where Mr. Burt himself claimed
to have invented this vehicle concept.

Harry Burt introduced the famous bell-ringing white neighborhood ice cream truck

The first Good Humor ice cream treats, which became well known when
they later began being sold by a fleet of ice cream trucks manned by
uniformed drivers, was produced in 1920 by Harry Burt,

Burt then created the bell-ringing ice cream truck
