My question
-----------
I want to apply for a Masters Degree in Financial Mathematics from
Stanford University.
Here is my question?
1. What are my chances for being admitted considering the following:
Undergraduate in Computer Engineering from Univeristy of Arizona 1995
GPA: 3.63/4.00. However, I transferred to the U of A from Colorado
State University after 3 semesters in my softmore year. My GPA at CSU
was a 3.86 but I withdrew from all my classes during my last semester
there and received W's for all my classes. Also, after transferring to
the Univeristy of Arizona I withdrew from one semester during my
Junior year, again resulting in more W's. And another semester where I
received two more W's. Will This sink Me??
I have been a software developer in the finiancial industry for the
past nine years, 4 years at Credit Suisse and 5 years at Wachovia
Securities. My current title is a vice president at Wachovia. Also, I
had an internship at Intel, while attending the U of A.
GRE Scores: 800/800 Quant 700/800 Verbal AWA 4.0/6.0 Date: 12/2004
I have taken two courses at Monmouth University this past Fall in
order to sharpen my Math skills: Linear Algebre, and Probability &
Stats I. I received A's in both courses. In addition, I am currently
enrolled in Prob & Stats II and Ordinary Differential Equations for
the spring semester, which I have indicated in my Personal Statement.
Recommendations:
My current supervisor at Wachovia Securities (Senior Vice President)
My prior supervisor while working at Credit Suisse (who is now a Director)
My Professor at Monmouth University for Linear Algebra
Should I submit a fourth recommendation (even though the instruction
indicate only three) from my statistics professor?
Thank You
