Bryan, I have squeezed the 'Net for info about your Samson Matstone 6-in-1 Juicer (and juicers in general), and the results were quite tasty, with a small amount of pulp. "Matstone 6-in-One Multipurpose Juicer (aka Samson/Oscar) I have recently acquired one of these juicers and must say that I have been most impressed with its performance. It's a single auger, cold press machine that works like a millstone. It's excellent for juicing most kinds of fruit and vegetables and can also be used to juice wheatgrass. I must say that it's surprisingly quiet for such a powerful machine and is also very easy to clean and to assemble. It operates at a low speed (80rpm), thus preserving most of the food's nutrients and flavour. The Matstone has many other functions apart from juicing though. Use it to make healthy 'ice-cream' from frozen fruits such as bananas, to grind coffee beans, to make noodles, pasta or rice cakes, to extract oil from seeds, or to mince seasonings and other foods. I have also used mine to produce soya milk, although it was rather weak. The Organic Gardening Catalogue are selling this multi-purpose juice extractor for £275 (Tel: 0845 130 1304), but it's also available from the FRESH Network for £249 (Tel: 0870 800 7070) and for the bargain price of £149 from Soya Fresh! (Tel: 0845 330 6781). Juices are easily digested, high in vitamins and minerals and are an excellent tonic food." The Vegan News: Autumn 2004 http://www.btinternet.com/~bury_rd/autfour.htm This messageboard provides two opposing opinions on the Samson Matsone 6-in-1: "I decided to buy the samson 6 in 1. I have only used it twice so far but I can say I am very pleased with it. It is very easy to clean & dismantle. I made lovely frozen bannana dessert - a must! and I juiced some veg which tasted great & with no pulp. I would definetly reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality juicer that is easy to use & clean. The only quibble is the manual could do with full recipes rather than part of it e.g. rice cakes. The greenstar/power juicers are supposed to produce more of a superior juice but the reason why I chose the samson is that I lack energy and I wanted something easy to use & clean that would juice greeny leafs & grass as well as veg etc and the samson does produce good quality juice keeping the enzymes alive. If I get any problems with it I will let people know because it maybe helpful info for someone who is looking to choose a juicer (which can be a nightmare!) [ * * * ] I own a samson 6 n 1 and wish I had bought a greenstar. I will give this info for people who have not made the mistake of buying a Samson. The Samson does a decent job of jucing sunflower sprouts if you put them through like 4 times, I'm only doing sunflower and celery right now because I am challinged with severe Leaky Gut. It does Wheatgrass very well though, one drawback though is that the screen will crack eventually if not right away. The good thing is that it dosent inhibit the performance that I can tell. Mung beans do well also, most leafy greens dont, I'm glad it does mostly what I need but otherwise it sucks in my opionion. It is pretty well made though.... the samson is a very well made machine but just finicky. I have found that it does do leafy green but you have to put them in first, before any other vegies. The one thing I would like to juice though is fenugreek and it dosent do it. In its defense, probably only a twin gear will do this well." If I had the moolah to spare, I'd go for this gizmo. This was an interesting research project which I shall remember the next time I give one of my pets a squeeze. ;-) Best, Pink |

Pink You've made my day ... many thanks! And would you believe that Phil would have had me going to Virginia or some place to buy a $4 plastic gizmo? It would have cost me more to get there than buying a DOZEN real juicers! Between you and me, I don't believe that Phil is a researcher. Please have him checked out. Many thanks. Bryan |

Bryan, And you reckon I'm so INNOCENT .. please consider a $4 alternative as below. In time it too may be an appreciating asset. (Watch the "l" at the end of the link now wrapped to the second line) http://www.cyberattic.com/stores/hyhouse2/items/346843/item346843cyberattic.html Kind regards from your partner in crime, Phil |

Wow, Phil ... Many thanks! But you haven't revealed your Search Strategy! And I thought that you had promised faithfully NOT to comment on ANY question for 24 hours? I suppose you realise that the Pink Lady is still tucked up in bed? I promise you that she will be spitting pink-coloured brimstone when she surfaces. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Sir Bryan, You would remain one of few whom would hold me to that, considering "that question". I congratulate and despise your memory at the same time. You are however correct kind Sir. I hold two excuses within the sleeve of my forearm however. 1/ I was impelled to come to your aid, regardless of your asking in direction of Pinkfreud to answer your noble question my compatriot (albeit my residing within the colony of New Holland) (In other words, I just had to sneak a look at your words.) and 2/ The Southern hemisphere of my abode retains the advantage of future time. The date on my computer is usually forward one day of the question date. The confusion calls for a good excuse. Either way Sir Bryan of Humble Hove, I trust that you will locate a juicer conducive to your extraction. Your friend in rusty armour, Sir Phil |

We paid almost $200 for a juiceman several years ago. The starting winding of the motor developed an open circuit, I think. We then bought a cheap knock off of the juiceman at Walmart for $50 which jucies better, is easier to clean and has survived more minutes of operation. Neil |

Bryan, Thanks for the five succulent stars and the juicy ten-dollar tip! Regarding our friend Phil, I believe he may be a bit addled because he has been living on the bottom half of the planet, and all the blood has run to the other end of his body. Then again, maybe Phil's downunder posture gives him certain advantages. After all, Australia is known for a huge augment, and a rush'll grow. Er... excuse me... I've been informed that it is a Hugh Jackman and a Russell Crowe. My mistake. ~Pink |

Yes but we do know about juice in Australia. We drink a lot of it and whether the fruit required is of the cooler climate variety such as apples and pears or whether it be the tropical type that is to be squeezed such as pineapple, mango, banana etc it all comes from our own big wide land. What's more one Aussie woman who began her own juice business( retail shop drinks) only three years back has just sold it to an American interest for $75,000,000. JFM |

Aha! So Phil is an Aussie is he? Well ALL is now explained ... and I suppose he's among those who look at the map upside down? I can imagine the look on his face when I sell MY Juicer business for maybe $500. Oh yes, the Pink Lady can invest in my new venture but I insist that she uses Western Union and sends the funds in escrow. All the Best to All Bryan |

Knights and Princesses, Thank you ladies for coming to my defense. I might consider your services again when I next appear in court. Sir John of Magical Melbourne has made a valid point. Our abundance of .. everything in fact .. puts us on TOP of the world. We are so spoiled. Sir Bryan, you would have to be the wittiest and funniest satirist with whom I have ever conversed. Do enjoy the POMEgranates, cumquats and imported Australian fruits of your labour. http://www.pinkladyapples.co.uk/ Regards, The Wizard of Oz |

Pink Lady apples? I am sure that our Pink Lady could sue for breach of trademark. Pink, please send your investment funds to Ray Bolger alias S Crow c/o Oz. And now I know that you are a cowgirl kind of person, I need to know would that be the Calamity Jane or the Annie Oakley type. |
