I believe I am using Windows 2000 XP. Also I can not find the
"program" in the add/remove programs area.

I have found in add/delete programs, a program called "Search
Assistant" (uninstall) which when clicking on "change/delete" does not
allow me to delete it, in either of two user accounts. Any suggestions
to get rid of this parasite???

Actually you shouldn't be posting his address as more than likley he
was just infected by the same thing and he never meant to send it to
you. Try geek superhero at download.com. I assume this is affecting
your homepage if you run this software it will easily reset your
internet otions. Now you might also check your add/remove programs
for this.

Culver-

If you can state windows version, and what web browser you are using,
I can walk you through a manual fix or recommend some great adware
programs that will auto remove this adware and prevent any future
infections.

Mircosoft has released a new beta program for adware, spyware called
Microsoft Antispyware. Given the fact that anything dangerous on my
computer can easlily wind up on clients computers from file transfers
and such- I tend to be overly zealous when it comes to protecting my
pc. I have been using this and compared to many expensive antispyware
programs I have tried- this one cleaned everything. It comes with a
setting to auto override and hijacking you may have picked up and with
advanced setting is easily configured and remarkably effective. You
can find it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Before you download it I recommend restoring your computer to a date
BEFORE you where infected since you are running XP. If you restore
after download it will remove program also.

So restore computer, download program, which will require your xp
registration code and then run program. After program has scanned and
delected all infections go to the setting manual and set up you
restore pages for url homepage and such.

If this does not take care of the issue- which I'm sure that it will,
you can manually remove the infection. This is a bit more complicated.
So try this first. If you do need manual removal post a comment back
and I can walk you through it. You'll need to have a look at your
registry key to find the bad files. And you'll need to be able to give
the address that you are being rediercted to and the actually parasite
name. So any extra info about the pop ups that you are getting or the
pages you are redirected to will help in pin pointing the agent.
