Imagine your are PR person working for the
society of women healthcare professionals (with terminal professional
degrees, MD or MD PhD, ergo highly educated and relatively highly paid
(median $250.000/year). Relatively, because male peers with the same
education and experience earn, on average 30-40% more for the same work.
Additionally the profession is very much male dominated (only 10% are women)
and it is difficult for women to get in.
You are hired to make male counterparts aware about the situation and to
initiate the changes, for better, of course. However you don't want to come
as a hard line feminist; "we are females, we are minority, we deserve
better". This will not fly. You want to put together data that will show
black on white (or better even color on white!) why women are as good if not
better as men. Moreover you want to show men why they would actually benefit
from broader women representation and participation. However, the final
conclusion; women are discriminated, should be made by (smart and educated)
male readership. In fact you want them to make this conclusion on their own.
This way it will be easier accepted and cherished by men.
On the side of this great main goal, you need money( diengi, szmal, bucks or
quids) to run the show and pay your salary and expenses. How would you go
about finding sponsors (remember there is multibillion dollars industry
making drugs and equipment and selling insurance), what tactics, headlines
should you use?
Also please keep in mind WHY male-dominated profession is not very
eager to get sex-balanced.
Please find me websites and documents that might be related to the
above descirbe task. Thank you very much. |
