I'am trying to create a performance monitoring application in vb.net 2003.
This is a sample of my code (whereas the object that I have created in
Server Explorer is called "perfAvailMem"):
Private Sub btn1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles btn1.Click
Dim value
value = perfAvailMem.NextValue
MsgBox("You have " & value & " Megs of available Memory available")
End Sub
Although I can use server explorer to create objects for each specific
performance counters (IE Memory/Available MBytes), I would have to
create objects for every desired performance counter times the number
of computers on my network. That could be hundreds if not almost a
thousand objects depending on the number of desired performance
counters... This is not efficient.
Instead... I would like to use a ComboBox to pick a name of a
computer, and then another ComboBox to pick a desired counter. Is
this possible? |
