Dear milo,

Thank you for your question. A cruise on the QE2 would be magnificent.
After quite a bit of searching, I eventually used the email form on
the Cunard site and received a rather prompt answer...

"The outside pool on the QE2 is 9 meters long / 5 meters wide."
This would be 29'3" x 16'3"

"Miami Cunard Sales Mailbox" <CunSales@cunardmail.com>

The virtual tour of one deck shows the pool... it looks almost
square??? (I can certainly understand j_philipp's estimate)

Cruisepage.com: Negative comment about size: “tiny outdoor pool”

Search strategy
pool comparisons qe2 or "queen elizabeth 2"
then resorted to email

Please select clarify, if you would like any further investigation.

Kind Regards,

I found out that one of the two outdoor swimming pools was removed
from the Queen Elizabeth 2 during renovation, which explained (if you
add the bigger indoor pool) why some sources talk about three, some of
two pools (though there seem to be 14 pools overall). Several sources
state the remaining pool on the One Deck, to be seen from the Lido
restaurant, is small by today's standards. By overlaying the One Deck
ship plan image (containing the pool) [1] onto the biggest ship image
and resizing to about 963*105 pixels -- this would be feet for the
original [2] -- I would estimate the pool's size to be about 25*31
feet. (Please keep in mind this is nothing more than an educated
guess.)

Some fun facts, which however do not shed more light on the question
at hand:
"Consumption [of water] - about 1,000 tons per day; equivalent to 14
of the ship's swimming pools." [3]
"Fuel Consumption: 18.05 tons per hour, or 433 tons per day. This is
equal to six of the ship's swimming pools." [3]
"Enough fruit juice is used in one year to fill up QE2's swimming
pools nearly 8 times." [4]

Good luck!
