The technical support on the IBM website indicates that a specific AGP
card must be used, but it does not give the name(s) of any compatible
cards. The link to the ServerProven site does not yield any specific
information either. What AGP card model(s) fit in the IBM Netfinity
1000?

The server comes with S3 Trio3D video adapter integrated into the
motherboard, according to
http://www.linuxtested.com/results/netfinity1000_1.html (says 2MB
video memory) and http://developer.novell.com/yes/59677.htm . The IBM
site at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-49LQL5
says the system comes with 4MB of video memory, which could be a
slightly different model.

The hardware maintenance manual at
http://www-3.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4793Q6
(PDF file) says an AGP card can be installed (which will override the
build in video feature). As you say, there is insufficient
information at http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/compat/ on this particular
machine. Your best bet is to contact IBM using the contact information
at http://www.ibm.com/contact/us/ and ask them about it (and give them
time to give you a useful reply).

From the other information available, it appears any older AGP video
card supported by the operating system with the right driver should
work (the news ones should be compatible as well) - but that's only a
reasonable assumption and not a fact unless verified by IBM. Good
luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have sent an email to IBM and will wait
patiently for a response. Any ideas on a PCI video card that supports
Windows Server 2003?

I have replied on the separate question you have posted (assuming it
is not the same IBM platform from this question).
