How do I clean a picture developed in Dec 1979? I spilled food (I
think beef grease, but I didn't notice when it happened so I'm not
sure) on it in the last couple weeks and am not sure what would best
remove the spots so further damage doesn't occur from the grease and
NOT damage the photo
further (with whatever is used to clean it). The three small spots
with food are both greasy and kind crystallized. The picture is on
Kodak paper and developed by Fox Photo. It's a snapshot of me age
4-1/2 with my baby brother age 2 weeks. Thanks!!!

Really I have no idea. You could scan it and have the grease edited
off of it. If you were to scan it and upload it to
http://www.imageshack.us/ then we could see the extent of the damage.
I myself am very experianced in photo editing.

Try removing the spots with lighter fluid and a soft tissue, which harms nothing.

Go to a professional photo restorer. It may cost, but if the photo is
special to you, it will be worth it.
