Back for 2005 :)

I'm after freely downloadable (or very cheap) emulations for a
standard PC of the Beyond software games 'Lords of Midnight' and
'Doomdarks Revenge' originally designed by Mike Singleton for the
Sinclair ZX Spectrum 20-25 years ago.

Also, if anything can be found on the Eye of ?Morkin? , the planned
third game before Singleton was headhunted, I'd be appreciative

If you want to run an emulator on your machine (to get fullscreen and
possibly better performance than the Java applet), I suggest you try
MESS:

http://www.mess.org/

It is an emulator that emulates a large number of systems, including
many variants of ZX Spectrum.

Of course, to play the games you'll also need so called ROMs, which in
this case are snapshots of the emulated machine's memory. For ZX
Spectrum they're usually *.z80 or *.sna files. They're pretty easy to
find on the net, the legality of their distribution is sometimes
unclear though - some of the publishers explicitly allow their old
games to be distributed freely, others explicitly forbid it, and many
went out of business years ago and have no clear descendants.
