Aren't many of those figures a year old though?

nothing is linear, considering war and tsunami and other disasters so
the population of world could dwindle and fall below billion just like
thermameter you could not say because today is 40 degrees tomorrow
will be 41 and so on we could have 10 degree below zero too.
