Another Walmart question.. When looking at music CD's at WalMart yesterday, I noticed on the label it says "Date", and then has a number. They seem to always end in the number "2", which would probably mean 2002, but the other vary. Along the lines of 142, 242, 122, etc. Just wondering what the numbers meant, or what the code meant. I did ask the employee standing at the cash register, but he said he had no idea. |

If the number is PRINTED on the lable (in ink like the rest of the text) the best way to find out would be to contact the publisher of the music and ask them. I suspect it's a batch number like 142=batch14, year2002 242=batch24, year2002. Sence you don't have a title there is no way I could find this out. If the number is "lasered" into the little ring on the inside of the CD(the one just outside of the clear plastic piece). You should try to contact the manufactuarer of the disk (this info could probably be obtained from whoever published the disk. However, I suspect the number will be something as mundane as a batch code or production line ID. It could also be the manufactuarer's cataloge number for that type/size/ of disk. |
