I am looking to see if there is a product that will instantly become cold but is reusable. I know there is a product that is instant for the first time but then you put it in the freezer for later uses. I am looking for one that will instantly freeze over and over. They would be kind of like the instant reusable heat packs that heat up at the snap of a button. he only difference is they would freeze or become cold. Unfortunately, you are up against the 2nd law of thermodynamics here. Things cannot lose heat to a warmer object spontaneously. In other words, for something to be cooled below ambient temperature requires an input of energy. The "one-off" devices probably have this energy stored chemically, and once it is gone, it is gone. The only practial work-around may be to have a supply of liquid nitrogen (which would require energy to create of course), and use this to snap-freeze your cold pack. |
