On my 50th birthday, some of my friends gave me various items of "Over
the Hill" merchandise. Silly things like a coffee cup that says "I
USED TO HAVE P.M.S., BUT NOW THAT I AM 50, I SUFFER FROM C.R.S. (CAN'T
REMEMBER SH*T)".

You can find tons of "Over the Hill" stuff online:

Of course, some of these things might be offensive to people who are
touchy about their age. You have to use good judgment; what is funny
to one person may be viewed as hurtful by another.

Will there be a theme for this birthday party? What are the birthday
honoree's favorite activities or interests that they share with the
guests? What time of year and where will you have this party? If you
told us more about the guest of honor and who will be sharing in the
celebration we might be able to come up with more suitable ideas for
your prizes. Thanks.\

the theme is my 50th-yes it is mine.. i was looking for game prizes
rather than favors; i have ordered favors already. the party is next
week. What i share with these guests is mostly our age range! So I
have come up with some ideas about this. Just in case any of my
guests should read this page, I will keep it a secret. :))

How about pens with the names of the people who you are having a party
for on them. Coffe mugs. Prints of faous art work. Coffee!!! Car wash
vouchers. Food vouchers. Gift bags. Makeup or perfume for the ladies.
How about getting a button maker and have there photo put on pins that
the winners can wear. Do the guests have anything in common. Most
friends who stay together that long tend to have some simular
interest. Bingo, bowling, dancing, playing pool. Or such ideas could
help you decide.

I just noticed your comment that you 'don't want to offend' because I
was just about to ask you to clarify 'adult word games'!

What about old vinyl records or old books and magazines relevant to
the era of the ages you're targetting. There are Op Shops (do you call
them 'Goodwill Stores' in the US?) here in Australia that are a
fantastic source of fabulous old stuff like this. I love browsing
through the piles of old records and remembering the ones that I
actually saved up for and bought!

I HATED those "over the hill mugs" and stuff. I knew my age and didn't
want people to remind me.

I like the idea about the pen set, perhaps with the name of the person
whose birthday on it. Perhaps even a joke message "so you won't forget
me next year".

My wife just gace a heck of a party, rented the local military
barracks mess for the day and arranged basic but effective
accommodation for all. It was great. Hope this one is for you
