My objective is to create a multimedia CD with the help of Flash-5 for
which I have to create installation.exe using Install shield Express (
i can also use any other installation software so if there is some
other software which may solve my problem let me know ) . The
installation should/will install a file "start.exe" on the user's
system . "start.exe" is a flash exe file. I want the rest of the data
to remain on the Cd itself , so that the user would be able to view
my program if the CD is present in the CDROM drive . Now I want to
programme start.exe in such a way that it gets installed on the user's
system and for further links it seeks the CD in the drive and takes
the furhter links from it.
I would like to know the step by step procedure to achieve this. if
there are any clarifications do post a comment.

Hello,
You actually desire to install the "start.exe" on the host PC, and not
run it from the CD?

Hi
My purpose is to distribute my Cd is such a way that the entire
application does not get installed in the host PC and the user always
needs the CD to run the application. For better speed i guess i would
like a part of the application (if possible) to get installed on the
host PC.

hello,
Are instructions for an auto running splash / start up screen (when CD
is inserted into drive) which displays option buttons:-
Button A. Install ALL of flash components onto users hard disk and
Button B. to run flash presentation off disk
satisfactory as an answer?
I do not know how to split the Flash so it can be part installed onto
the users hard disk and needing the other Flash contents ont the CD.
One way is perhaps for you to split your Flash up into smaller pieces
but that would mean you would have to know the path to your other
Flash movies from where ever the user chose to install it C drive, D
drive or E drive etc to the CD-ROM drive, otherwise you will end up
with a broken link if the path is incorrect in your Flash movie.
