Hi, I recently purchased a new computer and I am starting to notice color banding while using Adobe Photoshop and also in certain photographs viewed through internet explorer. I have calibrated my monitor (using Adobe Gamma) with the manufacture supplied profile and I set the gamma to Windows Default which is 2.2. Since I do most of my editing in Adobe RGB (1998), which I think uses a gamma of 2.2, should I have this sort of banding? I also have a fairly high-end video card (NVidia 6800 GTO). I am running Windows XP Professional and the color settings are optimal, resolution at: "1280x1024" (monitor's maximum) and color quality set to "Highest (32 bit)". What is causing this? A perfect answer would solve banding in both profile managed apps like Adobe Photoshop and also in applications like Internet Explorer. If you have any questions let me know, Salman |
